Survey of the implementation of persistent identifiers in Czech research institutions

This report describes the current state and planned development of the integration of persistent identifiers (PIDs) – DOI, ORCID, ROR and RAiD – into the institutional information systems of research organisations in the Czech Republic. The survey was carried out by the National Library of Technology (NTK) within the CARDS project to map current coverage and planned development of these integrations. The questionnaire survey ran in autumn 2025 and addressed a sample of research institutions in the Czech research ecosystem. The analysis set comprises 198 institutions; 160 institutions (respondents) completed the questionnaire at least partially. The sampling frame covers more than 99% of research output recorded in RIV for 2022–2024. The initial frame had 199 organisations; after consolidation the analysis works with 198 institutions, and the original population weights are normalised to this base (i.e. 100% of the weighted base used throughout the report). The report is purely descriptive. It reports observed answer frequencies and does not evaluate them. Where there are notable differences between the unweighted and weighted views, the report flags them. Chapters 9–11 describe relationships in the data, qualitative inputs and plans those institutions themselves stated. The report examines five types of institutional systems (repository, current research information system / CRIS, financial management, grant management, human-resources management) and five types of persistent identifiers (DOI for grants, DOI for outputs, ORCID, RAiD, ROR).

Průzkum zavádění perzistentních identifikátorů v českých výzkumných institucích

Tato zpráva popisuje aktuální stav a plánovaný rozvoj integrace trvalých (perzistentních) identifikátorů - DOI, ORCID, ROR a RAiD - do institucionálních informačních systémů výzkumných organizací v České republice. Šetření realizovala Národní technická knihovna (NTK) v rámci projektu CARDS s cílem zmapovat současné pokrytí a plánovaný rozvoj těchto integrací. Dotazníkové šetření proběhlo na podzim 2025 a oslovilo vzorek výzkumných institucí evidovaných v rámci českého výzkumného ekosystému. Analyzovaný soubor tvoří 198 institucí; dotazník alespoň částečně vyplnilo 160 institucí (respondentů). Výběrový rámec přitom pokrývá více než 99 % výzkumné produkce evidované v RIV za roky 2022-2024. Výchozí rámec měl 199 organizací; po konsolidaci se pro analýzu pracuje se 198 institucemi a originální populační váhy jsou normalizovány právě na tuto bázi (tj. 100 % vážené báze používané ve zprávě). Zpráva je čistě deskriptivní. Popisuje zjištěné četnosti odpovědí a nehodnotí je. Tam, kde se objevují výrazné rozdíly mezi neváženým a váženým pohledem, zpráva na ně upozorňuje. Kapitoly 9-11 popisují vztahy v datech, kvalitativní vstupy a plány, které instituce samy uvedly. Zpráva zkoumá pět typů institucionálních systémů (repozitář, systém evidence publikací / CRIS, systém finančního řízení, systém řízení grantů, systém řízení lidských zdrojů) a pět typů trvalých identifikátorů (DOI pro granty, DOI pro výstupy, ORCID, RAiD, ROR).

AI-Related Dilemmas at NTK

This set of 10 AI-related dilemmas was inspired by the original Dilemma Game created at Erasmus University Rotterdam. The new dilemmas were drafted in 2025 by Special Academic Services at the National Library of Technology (NTK) in collaboration with the Responsible AI in Prague initiative at CTU Prague, to be used in Dilemma Game workshops held by the Academic Services team at NTK and other academic or research institutions. The graphic design was created by Jitka Zavoralová in line with NTK’s proprietary logo and graphic style. This set of dilemma cards was first used in a Dilemma Game workshop organized at NTK on January 14, 2026. It comes with a set of instructions on how to play the game, drafted in 2026 in Czech and English by the Special Academic Services at NTK and based on their experience with organizing Dilemma Game workshops in the period from June 2025 to June 2026.
