30 Years of URNs: National Libraries as Case Studies

Abstract

In this session, the National Library of Finland (NLF) will present key findings from a recently conducted URN:NBN landscape report as part of the EU-funded FAIRCORE4EOSC project. Uniform Resource Name (URN) is a standard-based persistent identifier (PID) that NLF has been using since the late 1990s, and now is one of thirteen national libraries across Europe that uses these PIDs.
