(National Library of Technology, 2025) Vobrubová, Barbora
The presentation provides an overview of the basic principles of citing and managing sources together with recommendations intended for doctoral level students. It starts with the theory and terminology of citing (e.g., direct vs. indirect citation, citation method vs. citation style) and continues with a detailed description of the three main citation methods (Harvard, Vancouver, and footnotes) and some practical tips on how to format references. The presentation concludes with a section on citation managers, their uses and limitations. Zotero is used as a practical example with screenshots of specific features, such as the Zotero plug-in for Word, notes and highlights, and the personal library option.
