Bridging the Gap: Implementing the Decentralized Archival Resource Key (dARK)

Abstract

This presentation outlines the journey of dARK from proof of concept to service implementation. We will delve into the motivations driving the project, including the imperative for filling the gap between regions, the challenges faced by institutions in the Global South, and the limitations of centralized PID models. Furthermore, we will emphasize dARK's role as a complementary solution, designed to augment existing DOI infrastructure rather than compete with it.
