Where Are We with the Conference PIDs?

Abstract

Conferences play an important role in scholarly communication. Especially in applied sciences they also serve as venue for publishing original research (e.g., up to 2/3 novel results in computer science published in proceedings). This session aims at bringing together various stakeholders working on implementation or use of conference PIDs as developed earlier within the Crossref/Datacite Conference PID group https://www.crossref.org/working-groups/conferences-projects/. We will quickly review the use cases for conference PIDs and engage participants to share their experiences of using conference PIDs. Finally, we'll discuss how to increase the adoption of conference PIDs.
